Once upon a time, there was a very patient patient named Nosaj Ittecip. Even though he had lost the ability to speak he was still able to communicate via his trusty laptop. That method of talking worked for a few years but due to the progressive nature of his ailment his arms, hands, and fingers began to lose their function as well. He and his peeps decided to look into getting some help.
They visited a woman at his HMO by the name of Hope Atlantico. She ordered him a device called Eye Gaze that would greatly assist him in his communication struggles. She told him that the process would take about four to six weeks and they left it at that.
Ten to twelve weeks later, with his typing skills rapidly diminishing, no Eye Gaze appeared at his door. He implored his Italian-American Man-Servant to put in a call to Hope to see what was going on with the device. A message was left and they went about their biz-nass of the day.
The next morning Nosaj received a pair of phone calls. The company that makes the speaking machine informed him that he would have it the very next day. His HMO also approved four training sessions beginning next Tuesday.
I guess one call does it all.
