Just a few things to keep in mind as you watch the interview:
- The 40 minutes we waited in place on the live set before our interview must have felt like 40 years to Fehmeen (who had the 17 month-old perpetual motion machine on her lap almost the entire time).
- During that time, Emma gave high-fives to nearly every crew member on set. She also yelled, “Uh-oh”, every time an object fell to the ground (which was a lot).
- About 3 minutes before we were set to go live, I started to get that oh-snap-I’m-about-to-pass-out feeling in the pit of my stomach. A quick thinking Fehmeen revived me by pouring water down my back while Gasia (the interviewer) and Emma fanned me with index cards right up until showtime.

One final note: I intended to create this post on the Tuesday following Labor Day but thanks to an ultra-steep learning curve in extracting a recording from a DVR and transferring it here, that plan got delayed until Friday morning. In the end, a video camera saved the day. At least it’s in HD. The original broadcast, that is.

Le and I were so bummed that we could not get the telecast over here in Lathrop since it was a Sacramento station, and they were featuring stories from the local area. But, we are thrilled to be able to see it here on your blog. Emma stole the show! Good job, Fehmeen. I see that the moderator was using aliases so as to not blow your cover.

Thank you for sharing that with us! What a great interview. Your wife is wonderful and Emma is gorgeous! I love that you guys taught her to say that she is your “hope.” So sweet.
How fabulous was that?!?. Emma does what she wants. She is a born celebrity, although she should have kept her hair intact. Emma is sooo meant to be a star — I cannot wait to live in her house in Malibu and dodge the paparrazi…uhhh, I mean, encourage her to be a doctor or scientist or whatever.
Oh my gosh, so much to comment on! First of all, Fehmeen, you are amazing! You did such a great job in that interview. I know it must have been hard. And Emma…. will the MDA consider funding her modeling/acting career? That girl has got celebrity written all over her. And Jason…. what an inspiration you are. I’m so proud to know you.
